ArcelorMittal/Bekaert Brazilian joint venture expands e-commerce

ArcelorMittal Brazil says its joint venture with Bekaert, Belgo Mineira Bekaert Artefatos de Arames, has improved its commercial policy and started to sell steel wire through its online store, Kallanish learns from the company.

“Steel e-commerce is an option with potential for growth, especially due to the ease of the process,” Belgo Bekaert Arames says. “We need to better understand the logistics challenges because Brazil is a large market and our supplies need to reach small and medium-sized cities,” the steel wire manufacturer adds.

Belgo Bekaert Arames supplies a wide range of wire for the agricultural sector, such as barbed and smooth wire, annealed and galvanized ready-made fences, and welding, fencing and hexagonal screens.

ArcelorMittal has 55.5% control in the Belgo Bekaert Arames JV, while Bekaert’s share is 44.5%.
