ArcelorMittal has named Geert Van Poelvoorde as chief executive of ArcelorMittal Europe, succeeding Aditya Mittal who became group ceo last month, Kallanish notes.
Van Poelvoorde has been heading the flat steel segment of ArcelorMittal Europe since 2014 and has been president of steelmakers’ association Eurofer since 2015.
Yves Koeberle will take over the role of ceo of ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat products. Koeberle was previously head of sourcing for ArcelorMittal and is also a member of the group management committee.
