Christian Wiethüchter, chief executive of Benteler Steel/Tube, has decided to leave the company for personal reasons and on best terms, Kallanish learns from Benteler Group.
After six years with Benteler Steel/Tube, Wiethüchter will return to the USA together with his family. During his time at Benteler, Wiethüchter played a key role in the successful transformation of the Steel/Tube division, the group states.
The Benteler Steel/Tube management board will reallocate Wiethüchter’s previous areas of responsibility among the members of the management board. These include group chief financial officer Tobias Braun and chief operating officer Thomas Michels.
Ralph Mathis, vice president of business area Industry & Distribution at Benteler Steel/Tube, has meanwhile taken over the role of chief sales officer (cso) and becomes a member of the management board, effective 1 April.
Prior to joining Benteler, Mathis worked for Kelvion Holding in various management positions, most recently as executive vice president. Before that, he worked for the GEA Group for many years, including in China.
