Shipments from European steel distributors jumped significantly in 2021 despite a slight slow-down registered toward the end of the year, according to the latest data published by the European stockholders association Eurometal.
Steel flat service centres saw shipments increasing 9.4% y-o-y. In December alone shipments increased 4.8% y-o-y after a drop of 8.1% y-o-y in November.
Multi-product and proximity distributors recorded a rise of 4.7% y-o-y in total annual shipments. In December shipments decreased -1.9% y-o-y according to data seen by Kallanish.
