The Northwest European prices for rebar and medium sections remained stable in the week ended Aug. 7, even as demand was starting to recover, sources said.
“Market is still a bit quiet,” a distributor source said. “But people are coming back from holidays, and demand is getting better.”
Sources said that some mills are trying to increase prices, since production costs are too high, and profit margins are too low currently.
“Mills want to increase prices by Eur20,” another distributor source said. “Production costs are too high and margins too low.”
