EUROMETAL together with the Belgian association of metal distribution Belmetal visited Cometsambre’s metal waste treatment facility in Obourg (Mons).
Cometsambre, active in the recycling of ferrous metals, is one of the companies that originally made up the COMET Group. Its growth allows it, today, to manage a supply of 800,000 tonnes of scrap metal per year, making it one of the largest producers of material for the steel industry in Belgium and Europe.
This visit led by Mr Cédric Slegers and Mr Joël Blavier allowed us to discover the modus operandi of a profession which is increasingly important and with great repercussions for our steel distribution sector.
