Italian passenger car output increased in February, Kallanish notes from local carmakers’ association Associazione Nazionale Filiera Industria Automobilistica (Anfia) preliminary data.
Car production hiked year-on-year by 7.6% to 42,058 units and by 3.6% on-year in the first two months of the year.
By comparison, Spanish car output increased in February by 17.9% to 179,289 cars, while German output skyrocketed by 24% to 382,600 units. Car production in the UK also increased, by 13.1% to 69,707 cars, Anfia reveals.
Italian passenger car output increased 6.6% y-o-y in full-year 2022 to 473,149 units. In 2021 Anfia registered 442,432 units produced in the country and 451,718 units in 2020.
Italy has 23 car production plants. Spain has 17 plants, France 31 and Germany 42.
Local service centres, re-rollers and coil producers are seeing orders from the automotive sector increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2022.
