Liberty Steel unit awarded two North Sea pipe contracts by Subsea7

Liberty Pipes Hartlepool, a subsidiary of UK-based Liberty Steel Group, has been awarded two contracts by engineering company Subsea7 to provide pipes for the Yggdrasil and Valhall PWP-Fenris offshore field projects in the North Sea.
The steelmaker will supply 16.6 km of longitudinally submerged arc welded (LSAW) pipe for the contracts, with work set to start imminently at its Hartlepool facility and continue throughout 2023.
The LSAW pipes will be produced according to API 5L specifications, and the pipes will also be coated prior to delivery.
Liberty Pipes Hartlepool recently became the UK’s first producer of hydrogen pipe material.
