NLMK has announced it is investing more than €30 million ($36.5m) to modernise its mill for the production of premium steel plate in Belgium.
“The revamping of the rolling mill includes installing a new descaling system and modernising the four-stand finishing mill,” the company tells Kallanish. “The three accumulators dedicated for the new pump room are scheduled to be commissioned in June this year. The assembly will ensure the new descaler operation, which is scheduled to be installed during summer maintenance.”
Effectively, NLMK Clabecq aims at further enhancing and strengthen the position of its mill in the market.
