Posco lifts stainless steel prices in September

South Korean steelmaker Posco has lifted its stainless steel prices in September, due to higher prices for raw materials such as chromium and nickel.

Kallanish learns that the company is adding KRW 100,000/tonne ($85.7/t) and KRW 50,000/t to its 300 series stainless steel and 400 series stainless steel products respectively.

One stainless steel cold rolling mill of Posco’s is under maintenance, which is scheduled to finish on Friday. However, it is not expected to impact supply because of advanced volume adjustment and stockpiling, the company says.
