Spanish special steelmaker Sidenor has acquired Aguilar Metal Recycling (AMR), a Valencian company specialising in industrial scrap, Kallanish understands.
The deal will ensure Sidenor`s supply of quality raw materials and boost its technological and industrial capacity in metal waste treatment.
“This acquisition contributes to the consolidation of the sector, in which the supply security of a key product such as industrial scrap will increase,” Sidenor says.
AMR is located in Sagunto, a significant area in terms of scrap collecting due to the presence of large car production plants, as well as an excellent port and railway logistic location, the steelmaker observes.
The acquisition now awaits approval from Spanish authorities and other closing conditions. The transaction should be completed during the second quarter.
