As part of its modernisation strategy, SAH Stahlwerk Annahütte is investing in a new walking-beam reheating furnace for billet, to be supplied by Danieli Centro Combustion.
The new furnace will be able to reheat 80 tonnes/hour of billet, Kallanish learns from Danieli. Apart from providing perfect reheating and excellent temperature uniformity, the technology will make the reheating process more economical and eco-friendly, the plantbuilder claims. Danieli Centro Combustion’s proprietary Hydro Mab hydrogen multi-air burners will reduce both electricity consumption and NOx emissions, it adds.
The Danieli scope of supplies includes the power distribution and automation systems, including Level 1 and 2 process control. Start of operation of the new furnace is slated for September 2024.
Stahlwerk Annahütte, located in Bavaria, Germany, is part of the Max Aicher group, and specialises in the production of round bars and high-performance thread bar systems. Its thread bar systems have been used in numerous landmark projects, including the Capital Gate Tower in Abu Dhabi, the Express Way in Singapore and the New World Trade Center in New York.
