Van Leeuwen completes acquisition of German distributor

Netherlands-headquartered Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group tells Kallanish that it has successfully completed the acquisition of Benteler Distribution, a division of Benteler International AG.

The pipe and tube specialist says that it has received all necessary approvals from the relevant regulatory authorities for closing the transaction. Van Leeuwen had originally signaled the deal in the summer (see Kallanish 28 August).

“Adding Benteler Distribution to the Van Leeuwen network provides Van Leeuwen access to additional key markets in Europe, and improves its position as a leading distributor of pipe and tube materials in Europe,” the Dutch company adds. The integration of the two companies starts as of December 2019, Van Leeuwen confirms.

The newly-enlarged group has close to a hundred branches spread throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and North America.
