Steel processor Wuppermann Austria has commissioned a new roll forming line at its site in Judenburg. The total investment for the construction of the new plant amounts to €13 million ($14m).
The new roll forming line with automatic packaging line offers a wider range of dimensions and thus also a wider range of products, the company tells Kallanish. It can now produce larger cross-sections and a wider production range of welded profiles with complex geometries, as well as open profiles with a significantly wider range of profile widths and heights, WA notes.
The new line can process pre-material with a width of 100-600mm. Profiles can be produced with a strip thickness of 1.5-4mm, a profile width of 25-300mm, a profile height of 20-140mm and a length of up to 13.5 metres. With a zinc coating of up to 1,300 g/m² (Z1300) or zinc-magnesium coating of up to 1,000 g/m² (ZM1000) and optional galvanized edge, these products meet the highest requirements for corrosion protection, the firm notes.
In addition, it can process steels with higher tensile strengths of up to 1,000 Mpa.
