Reiner Blaschek, chief executive of ArcelorMittal Germany, has been appointed by the group as ceo of ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products, Kallanish learns.
As of February 2024, he will succeed Yves Koeberle, who will keep handling the purchasing for the whole of Europe. Blaschek has been with ArcelorMittal and its predecessor companies since 1995 in various positions. Most recently, as ceo of ArcelorMittal Deutschland, he was also chairman of strip mills Bremen and Eisenhüttenstadt.
Blaschek’s successor as German unit ceo will be announced at a later date, the group notes.
