ArcelorMittal invests in German tube distribution unit

ArcelorMittal has spent approximately €1 million ($1.1m) on the modernisation of equipment at a distribution unit in Neckarsulm, southern Germany.

The site is part of ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions and offers a range of cold and hot formed hollow sections, round tube and beams made of rolled steel including the related processing options. It has now received a new blasting and priming device supplied by Gietart.  This is a high-performance blasting system with 22kW power per turbine and additional frequency control. It will replace equipment installed in 1992, Kallanish learns from the group.

At the same time, a new Gietart painting line with two separate paint systems has been installed. Two different water-soluble colours can be processed without interruption and without manual intervention on the paint drums. For customers, the investment means more choice and faster processing, ArcelorMittal says.
