Jacques Dham, ceo of Arcelor Negoce Distribution, has become the new president of Eurometal, the European federation of steel, metals and tube distributors.
Dham, who heads the steel stockholding division with Arcelor DDT, replaces Francisco Ros Garcia, the owner of Spanish steel distribution group Ros Casares. Ros Garcia resigned as president in the middle of last year following a dispute within the Spanish stockholders’ association, UAHE.
Dham’s former Arcelor DDT colleague, Georges Kirps, became Eurometal’s general director At the February 3 agm. Kirps retired from Arcelor late in 2004.
“The programme of the new Eurometal Presidency will aim at developing Eurometal as a fully acknowledged representative for all stakeholders of steel and metals distribution, as well as a service and know-how provider to its associations and to its member companies,” the organisation said.
Tomasz Milas (of TM Steel in Poland) and Jürgen Nusser (of German Steel Stockholding Assn BDS) were confirmed as vps of Eurometal, Hans Kohler of Switzerland as treasurer and Frans Guerts of the Netherlands as auditor.
