Shipments from EU distributors during the first six months of the year continued their negative trend, according to the latest data issued by Eurometal, seen by Kallanish.
Flat products service centres saw six-month shipments move down 1.1% year-on-year. In January-May the y-o-y change had still been slightly positive (+0.1%).
Stocks at flats service centres reached 79 days’ worth of shipments by the end of June, compared to 53 days in June 2021.
Shipments for multi-products and proximity distributors fell 12.8% y-o-y during the first six months of the year. The negative trend accelerated in June as during the January-May period the fall registered was 11% y-o-y.
