Spain lifts restrictions for industrial and construction sectors

The Spanish authorities are not extending the deadline of the decree limiting industrial production due to the coronavirus outbreak. As of Friday this week, all activities in the industrial sector as well as in the construction segment are set to be able to restart operations.

The restrictions were imposed at the beginning of last week, with a number of exceptions amongst steelmakers, such as major producers Celsa and ArcelorMittal, for example.

Special steelmaker Sidenor, for example, is expected to restart operations at its mills in northern Spain as of Monday 13 April, Kallanish understands.
