The Spanish automotive sector began 2020 with almost similar production levels. Exports, however, continued depressed year-on-year in January, Kallanish learns from the monthly data issued by the local Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (Anfac).
“Spanish factories have managed to maintain their activity against the current adverse situation in Europe, a market to which it exports more than 80% of its production. The Spanish manufacturers continue their effort to adapt their lines to new models in a lower market demand environment, the association adds.
Spain`s automotive production totalled 240,035 units in January or just 190 vehicles less in comparison to the same period of 2019. Spanish vehicle exports amounted to 183,730 units during the month, -3.4% less compared to January 2019, Anfac adds.
