The strike started on 16 September at one of the France-based electric arc furnace long products mills controlled by the Italian-headquartered Riva Group continues.
The site affected is in Montereau, south of Paris, Kallanish learns from trade union sources.
The strikes were initiated after a number of requests from workers were not accepted by the company’s management, including those for a Covid-19 bonus and more staff at the site.
The strike is currently ongoing, mainly affecting steelmaking. The site is equipped with one EAF with a capacity of 100 tonnes. The plant produces billet, which is rolled into light longs for the construction sector.
