Swedish green steel start-up Stegra has agreed a long-term tolling agreement with German-based processor Wuppermann to galvanize its steel products, Kallanish hears.
Wuppermann specialises in steel galvanizing with five production sites across Europe. Stegra’s agreement is with its Dutch branch, Wuppermann Staal Nederland.
According to Stegra, the galvanizing plant in the Netherlands has the lowest carbon footprint in Europe. “Together with Stegra, this is the start of a partnership across the value chain that is setting new standards for sustainable steel,” the Swedish company says.
Separately, Wuppermann has announced a change in its management. Ulrike Claus will join the executive board on 1 September to replace Arndt Lassmann, who will leave the company to retire.
As chief financial officer, Claus will take over all departments and areas of responsibility previously managed by Lassmann. Claus began her professional career in 2001 at Thyssenkrupp AG in Essen and was most recently the managing director and cfo of Gedore Holding GmbH in Remscheid.
