Liberty House is set to acquire four steel service centres in Italy from ArcelorMittal CLN Distribuzione Italia, Kallanish learns from a European Commission document. This is part of the purchase agreement to buy six production units being divested by ArcelorMittal as part of its acquisition of the former Ilva operation, now ArcelorMittal Italia.
The purchase of the service centres will be the subject of a separate agreement with ArcelorMittal CLN. The CLN flat products service centres are located in Arcore, Rieti, Quarto Inferiore, and Graffignana in Northern Italy.
Liberty is looking to buy ArcelorMittal Ostrava (Czech Republic), ArcelorMittal Galati (Romania), ArcelorMittal Skopje (North Macedonia), ArcelorMittal Piombino (Italy), ArcelorMittal Dudelange (Luxembourg), HDG lines 4-5 of ArcelorMittal Liège and three lines located in Tilleur (Belgium).
The European antitrust authority has announced that the deadline set for this case is now 26 April 2019 (see Kallanish 27 March). Requests for comment by the companies remained unanswered by publication deadline.
