Brazil-based steel distributor Aços F. Sacchelli Ltda. has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Swiss Steel do Brasil Indústria e Comércio de Aços Ltda. (Swiss Steel Brazil), a subsidiary of Swiss-based steel producer Swiss Steel Group.
The financial details of the agreement, announced by Aços F. Sacchelli on August 2, 2026, were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to be completed once certain closing conditions have been fulfilled.
Commenting on the acquisition, Aços F. Sacchelli General Manager Wagner Sacchelli said, “This acquisition is not only a milestone for Sacchelli, but also a milestone for the national industry.”
Sacchelli noted that the combination would bring together Aços F. Sacchelli’s expertise in mechanical structural steels with Swiss Steel Brazil’s expertise in tool steels. He added that the aim is to provide customers with a more comprehensive range of solutions.
Swiss Steel Brazil is one of the leading suppliers of tool steels and specialty steels in the Brazilian market. Its product portfolio includes tool steels, high-speed steels and various specialty steel grades.
These products are primarily used in tool and die manufacturing and machining applications, including the production of molds, punches, injection molds and machine components.
The parties did not disclose the value of the transaction. The acquisition is expected to close once the specified conditions are fulfilled, while no further details have yet been provided regarding the integration timeline or potential changes to the product portfolio.
