German residential construction to fall in 2023

Residential construction in Germany is expected this year to see a massive drop in incoming orders, by 40% year-on-year, says industry federation Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie (“Bauindustrie”). Last year, construction activity was still able to maintain the level of the previous year, of nearly 300,000 units, Bauindustrie says in its presentation of 2022 annual figures.
